"Towering Above Hunger", LERA's endearing giraffes won the inaugural Amy J. Nanni award from Canstruction New York, Inc.. The award was given to the most whimsical design.
Like humans, giraffes are social diners. They explore the savannah together in search of nourishment, with some keeping watch for danger while others reach for the leaves at the tops of the trees, ensuring that every member of the herd remains safe and well fed.
Constructed from approximately 3,800 cans of tuna, pink salmon, tomatoes, green beans and spinach, our giraffes represent the need for NYC to come together to protect each other from the LIONS of food insecurity. Together, we can TOWER above hunger!
