LERA Wins SMPS NY Marketing Communications Excellence Award for Project Pursuits

LERA accepted the Marketing Communications Excellence Award for Project Pursuits at SMPS NY's Liberty Ball on June 6, 2019. Magen Mintz and Carrie Villani were on hand to accept the award at the annual gala dedicated to excellence in marketing and professionalism in the AEC industry.

LERA’s response to the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey’s (PANYNJ) RFP for Structural Engineering Call-In Services was the culmination of a months-long effort of research, tracking and development that resulted in a winning submission. The substantial proposal package, printed and assembled in-house, consisted of a custom-printed three-ring binder containing over 100 pages of qualifications, resumes and documents. All of the materials were designed specifically for this pursuit, which also included custom-printed glossy dividers with hand-cut tabs.

PANYNJ’s Structural Engineering Call-In RFP is released only once every three years, and is competed for by all of the top engineering firms in New York City, with only one to five teams earning a contract. We are proud to say that LERA’s team was offered one of those coveted contracts, prolonging our successful 40-year history of working with PANYNJ.

LERA’s pursuit began before the RFP was even released, with our team regularly monitoring public sources for information, as well as researching previous contract holders. Once we received the RFP, we were given only three weeks to respond. Despite our extensive experience with PANYNJ, this was new territory for us, and was a high priority opportunity for the firm. As such, we put all of our resources towards developing the best proposal we possibly could.

We would like to thank the team involved in this huge effort, without whom we would not have won such an important contract for the firm:

  • Carrie Villani, Director of Marketing, who guided the team

  • Magen Mintz, Proposal Coordinator, who managed the development and execution of the proposal

  • Zoe Tyler, Marketing Assistant/Graphic Designer, who helped design custom materials

  • Sarabjit Singh, Marketing Assistant/Graphic Designer, who designed an outstanding awards submission complete with in-house photography

Further thanks goes to Elias Matar, Partner-in-Charge, for his direct support, and to the partners of the firm.

LERA's Marketing stand proud with the Award and PANYNJ Proposal. (and Superman cookies for the marketing superheroes!)
