The Calder Foundation Project Space
LERA was the structural engineer for the renovation of existing roof utility sheds and the top floors of a 1920s commercial printing building which were transformed into a contemporary gallery and office penthouse space. The renovation maintained the industrial character of the site by exposing steel beams and original bolts and connections.
This project is located in midtown Manhattan, and is approximately 4,000 sf. The project included a new spiral stair and a support system for a new exterior facade for the roof spaces.
The Calder Foundation is a finalist in the Architizer A+ Awards,
