Alumni Auditorium Renovation | CUMC

LERA led the structural design of a 9,500-sf (880-sm) renovation that converted the precast concrete façade of the Alumni Auditorium into a new, transparent glass façade. The project involved the removal of two egress stairs and the partial removal of the mezzanine level slab to create openings for the 2-story lobby, as well as new HVAC infrastructure and a new ADA lift from the lobby to the auditorium. The renovation transformed what once was an opaque, congested urban environment into a modern, welcoming public space in one of the most prominent areas of CUMC’s campus.
