(Civil), 1981 Professional Experience With the firm since 1982, Mr. Zottola was named partner in 1990. A Partner of the firm Partner-in-Charge of LERA's White Plains office, Mr. Zottola has extensive experience in design of the full spectrum of building types. He was Project Director of Puerta de Europa, Madrid's landmark leaning towers and Project Manager for the Bank of China Tower in Hong Kong. His long-span structure experience includes the San Jose Convention Center in San Jose, CA and the suspension bridge at the Miho Museum in Kyoto, Japan. Professional Licenses Professional Engineer - New York. Licensed or eligible in all 50 states. Civil Engineer - California Honors and Awards Mr. Zottola is a member of the Chi Epsilon, National Civil Engineering Honor Society. He was LERA's Partner-in-Charge of the Buck Institute for Age Research located in Novato, CA. The project won an NYACE Engineering Excellence Award for the structural design which featured a unique and innovative integration of structural steel floor framing and concrete shear walls. As LERA's Partner-in-Charge of projects at the World Trade Center, Mr. Zottola was deeply involved in the recovery efforts following the events of 9/11. He also was awarded The World Trade Center Medal for Individual Acts of Valor for his efforts following the 1993 terrorist attack. Professional Activities A member of the American Society of Civil Engineers, Mr. Zottola is currently Chair of the Steel Working Panel for the New York City Model Code Program.
