This 170,000-sf (15,800-sm) project consists of a 4-story laboratory building and a 5-story vivarium. Three stories of the laboratory wing span 90 ft (27 m) over an active roadway. While not required by the Building Code at the time, the structure of this project was designed to meet the seismic requirements of the Uniform Building Code. The project was completed in 1996.
