This existing building built, in 1897 is used by the New York City Board of Education for school administration services. The project involves a façade and roof restoration and preservation. Part of the roof is supported by large wood trusses, some of which have undergone deterioration causing the roof to settle and the exterior wall to move outward. This project involves the retrofitting of several timber trusses, providing new supports for the trusses and then jacking them back into their original location.
