This 1.4 million-sf (131,000-sm) office tower consists of 70-stories and includes 2 levels of underground parking. For the first time, a megastructure composed of a pure space-truss is used to support almost the entire weight of the building...while making use of that same system to resist the lateral thrusts of the typhoon winds. Perhaps more important, by precluding the need for 3-dimensional connections, the space-truss is achieved without the need to resort to the complexities and the cost that have been associated with cross-braced structures of the past.
