Hong Kong, China

The West Kowloon Cultural District (WKCD) is a 4.3 million-sf (400,000-sm) development site on the Hong Kong waterfront. Planned uses will comprise arts and cultural facilities, commercial and residential districts, and significant open space. LERA was on the team of Henderson Land Development Co. Ltd. in the initial government-held design competition for the WKCD, and was involved in the structural design of state-of-the-art Opera House, Performance Venues, and Art Museums, as well as the extensive Canopy over the site.
