Each year we seek to have a few structural engineers enter our firm. These engineers join our staff in the conception and development of imaginative solutions to architectural structures. Should you elect to join our firm, you will be working in the design of projects for some of the world's best known architects. As well, we work directly for Contractors and Owners on design-build projects, on alternative designs and on structural audits. Currently, we are designing or have buildings under construction in the United States, Europe and Asia. Your work activity will likely include high-rise buildings, long-span structures, concrete shells, pre-tensioned and post-tensioned concrete, structural steel and both wind and earthquake engineering. While the firm was founded in 1923, it has maintained a thoughtful posture toward the development of building systems in response to the needs of the environment and of our society. Our success is dependent completely on the dedication and talents of the men and women who make up our firm. We are, then, interested only in engineers prepared to put the practice of structural engineering into the very center of their lives. In order to be considered for employment as a structural engineer, you must have a Masters degree in civil/structural engineering or an equivalent 5-year program. In addition to structural engineers, we also employ a significant number of engineering drafters. Drafters should have a degree in architecture or drafting, and should be very comfortable with AutoCAD, which is the standard in our office. As with engineers, both graduating students and those with work experience are encouraged to apply. Our offices are located in the financial district, just one building south of the New York Stock Exchange, which makes for an easy commute from almost anywhere in the greater metropolitan area. New York offers a wide selection of living arrangements, and we can help you find a residence if you will need to relocate. If you wish to apply for a position as an engineer or drafter, please mail your résumé, transcripts, and a cover letter to the following address: Leslie E. Robertson Associates, R.L.L.P. Attn: Personnel Manager 30 Broad Street, 47-48th Floor New York, NY 10004-2304 Alternatively, you may fax your application to 212.750.9002, or e-mail it to jobs@lera.com.
