Professional Experience

A partner at LERA since 1987, Mr. Faschan joined the firm in 1978. Mr. Faschan has been involved in the structural design of the entire spectrum of building types ranging from high-rise buildings to long-span structures.

Honors and Awards

Cited by Engineering News Record as one of "Those Who Made Marks in the Construction Industry" in 1989 for his work on Meyerson Symphony Center, Mr. Faschan was awarded the World Trade Center Medal for Exceptional Service for his work in helping to get the World Trade Center re-opened after the 1993 bombing.


Professional Activities

A member of the American Society of Civil Engineers, Mr. Faschan served on the Advisory Council of the Cornell University School of Civil and Environmental Engineering. He was an Advisor for the Cornell University Master of Civil Engineering Design Project in 1983-84. Mr. Faschan is currently a member of the AISC Blast and Impact Resistant Design Committee. Additional professional activities include:

  • Chairman of the Structural Codes Committee for the New York Association of Consulting Engineers
  • Past-Chairman of the Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat Committee CL-5, Gravity Loads and Temperature Effects
